Under a Government scheme known as the Green Homes Grant launched on Wednesday 30 September 2020, homeowners in England could get vouchers worth up to £5,000 to make their homes more energy efficient. The Green Homes Grant (GHG) reached just 10% of the 600,000 homes the chancellor promised would be improved.
The scheme was stopped on Wednesday 31 March 2021 and the cash has now been allocated to a separate insulation fund run by local councils. The £300m previously allocated for the GHG will now go into a programme administered by local authorities, targeted at lower income households.
You should contact your local authority for more information.
